Taco Pizza Recipe: A Delicious Fusion of Mexican and Italian Flavors
Ingredients:
- 15 ml (1 tbsp.) olive oil
- 450 g (1 lb) ground beef
- 1 chopped onion
- 15 ml (1 tbsp.) minced garlic
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) taco seasoning
- 250 ml (1 cup) salsa
- 1 pre-baked pizza crust
- 500 ml (2 cups) grated Tex-Mex cheese mix
- 500 ml (2 cups) crushed corn chips
- 18 cherry tomatoes, quartered
- 375 ml (1 1/2 cups) chopped romaine lettuce
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) sour cream
Preparation:
Preheat your oven to 205°C (400°F). In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook for 4-5 minutes, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Stir in the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking for an additional minute. Add the taco seasoning and salsa, bringing the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 6-8 minutes. Place the pre-baked pizza crust on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spread the meat mixture evenly over the crust, then top with the grated Tex-Mex cheese mix. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Remove from the oven and top with crushed corn chips, quartered cherry tomatoes, chopped romaine lettuce, and a drizzle of sour cream.
