  • ⅛ tsp pepper
  • ⅓ cup white wine or chicken broth
  • 3 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 Tbsp finely chopped parsley (plus more for garnish)

For the Garlic Butter Steak:

  • ½ lb. NY Strip Steak
  • ½ tsp coarse salt
  • ⅛ tsp black pepper
  • ½ Tbsp high-smoke-point oil (avocado, coconut, or canola)
  • 1 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • ½ tsp minced garlic

Preparation

  1. Cook the Linguine: Boil linguine in salted water until al dente (about 7 minutes). Drain and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Shrimp Scampi: In a skillet, melt butter and olive oil over medium heat. Sauté garlic and red pepper flakes for 1 minute. Add shrimp, salt, and pepper, cooking until pink (about 5 minutes). Remove shrimp and set aside. Stir in white wine (or broth) and lemon juice, then remove from heat. Add parsley and toss with linguine and shrimp.
