Achieve mouthwatering, fall-off-the-bone BBQ baby back ribs with this easy baked ribs recipe. Perfect for weekend grilling or a family dinner, these ribs are packed with smoky flavors and a sweet BBQ glaze.
- Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C).
- In a small bowl, combine ancho chile powder, white sugar, brown sugar, salt, black pepper, cumin, dry mustard, cayenne pepper, and chipotle pepper to create a homemade dry rub.
- Place the baby back ribs meat-side down on aluminum foil. Prick the back of the rib rack several times with a knife to allow flavors to penetrate.
- Generously coat all sides of the rib rack with the dry rub.
- Fold the foil tightly around the ribs, meat-side down, and transfer to a sheet pan.
- Bake for 2 hours until the ribs are tender and cooked through. Remove and let cool for 15 minutes.
- Increase oven temperature to 350°F (175°C).
- Open the foil, drain and discard any accumulated juices and fat. Brush barbeque sauce on all sides of the rack.
- Place the ribs meat-side up and return to the oven, leaving the foil open. Bake for 10 minutes, then brush another layer of BBQ sauce on the meat side only. Repeat this process 4 more times, for a total of 50 minutes of baking time.
- Cut the rack into individual rib segments and serve with extra barbeque sauce.
