- 240g granulated sugar
- 100g water
- 1.5 tablespoons instant coffee

- 100g slivered almonds
Preparation
- Make the Chocolate Cake: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Separate the egg whites from the yolks. In a bowl, whisk the egg yolks with 50g of sugar until pale. In another bowl, beat the egg whites with the remaining sugar until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the egg whites into the yolk mixture using a spatula. Sift and gradually add the flour, cornstarch, cocoa powder, and baking powder until smooth. Pour the batter into a parchment-lined cake ring and bake for 20 minutes. Let cool on a wire rack.
