Milk Brioche Recipe: Cloud-Like Fluffy and Super Soft Bread Delight
Ingredients
- 200ml (⅞ cup) warm milk – activates yeast for perfect rise
- 7g (1 ½ tsp) dry yeast – ensures light and airy texture
- 20g (4 ¾ tsp) sugar – adds subtle sweetness
- 6g (1 tsp) salt – balances flavors
- 20g (1 tbsp) honey – enhances moisture and richness
- 400g (3 cups) all-purpose flour – creates a tender crumb
- 30g (2 tbsp) soft butter – adds richness and softness
- 50g (½ cup) chocolate chips – optional, for a sweet twist
Preparation
Start by whisking warm milk, dry yeast, honey, and sugar in a bowl until the yeast dissolves. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy. In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Pour the milk mixture into the flour and mix until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes, then incorporate soft butter until fully combined. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
After resting, knead in chocolate chips (if using). Perform a series of folds: flatten the dough, fold it into thirds, and repeat twice with 15-minute intervals. Let the dough rise for 1 hour in a warm place.
Divide the dough into 6 equal pieces, roll each into a cigar shape, and place them in a greased baking pan. Cover and let rise for another hour or until doubled in size. Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F. Brush the dough with an egg wash (optional) and bake for 20-22 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy this cloud-like, super soft Milk Brioche!
