Ingredients
- 2 Cups Tomato Juice – homemade or store-bought
- 2 Tsp Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 Tsp Red Chili Sauce – can use Tabasco sauce too
- 2 Tsp Lime Juice
- 2 Cans Mexican Beer – or any light beer
- 2 Cans Soda – for non-alcoholic version
- To Rim the Glass:
- Salt
- 1/2 Tsp Red Chili Powder
- 1 Lemon Wedge
- For Decoration:
- 1 Small Tomato – chopped
- 1 Lemon – thinly sliced
- 1 Small Jalapeño – thinly sliced
- 4 Toothpicks
Preparation
- In a medium bowl, mix tomato juice, Worcestershire sauce, chili sauce, and lime juice. Set aside.
- Rim the Glass:
- Combine salt and red chili powder on a flat plate.
- Rub the lemon wedge around the rim of the glass.
- Roll the rim in the salt and chili mixture for an even coating.
- Chill the glass in the refrigerator.
- Make Beer Michelada:
- Pour the tomato mixture into the rimmed glasses (serves 4).
- Add beer and stir gently.
- Skewer chopped tomato and jalapeño on a toothpick and place it on the glass rim.
- Repeat for all glasses and serve immediately.
- Make Non-Alcoholic Michelada:
- Follow the same steps, replacing beer with soda.
