Ingredients
For the Steak and Potatoes:
- 650g sirloin steak, sliced into thin strips
- 650g small yellow potatoes, cut into quarters
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 5 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped
- 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 teaspoon fresh oregano, chopped
- Salt and ground black pepper to taste
- Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
For the Marinating Sauce:
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce
- Ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Marinate the Steak: In a large bowl, combine the steak strips with soy sauce, olive oil, hot sauce, and black pepper. Let it marinate while you prepare the potatoes.
- Cook the Potatoes: Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil and 1 tablespoon butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the potatoes and cook for 4 minutes, stir, then cook for another 4-5 minutes until golden and tender. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
- Cook the Steak: In the same skillet, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons butter over medium heat. Add garlic, crushed red pepper flakes (if using), and fresh herbs. Arrange the steak strips in a single layer and cook for 1 minute per side, or until desired doneness. Reserve the marinade.
- Finish the Dish: Pour the reserved marinade into the skillet and cook for 1 minute. Return the potatoes to the pan to heat through. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Serve: Turn off the heat and serve immediately. Garnish with crushed red pepper flakes and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese (optional). Enjoy!
